If you’ve seen attorney E. Eric Guirard’s commercials lately, you might have noticed that his law firm has a different name. Guirard has named attorneys Chad Dudley and Steven DeBosier as partners, and the firm is now called Guirard Dudley DeBosier. Dudley has been the firm’s chief operating officer since 2007, while DeBosier has been with the office since 2000. A Guirard spokeswoman says the move, which was completed about two weeks ago, was to reward Dudley and DeBosier for their years of contribution to the firm and dedication to clients.
The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board wants to disbar Guirard and partner Thomas Pittenger for allegedly letting regular folks do the work of lawyers and rewarding them with bonuses, commissions and trips for signing clients and settling cases quickly. The Louisiana Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on the disbarment next month. Guirard’s spokeswoman says the move to make Dudley and DeBosier partners had no connection to the potential disbarment.—Timothy Boone
