‘The Boss’ is a fan: A book by LSU history professor Nancy Isenberg pops up in the new Rolling Stone cover story on Bruce Springsteen. Isenberg’s book Fallen Founder, an award winning biography of Aaron Burr, was photographed sitting on a coffee table in Springsteen’s reading room. Springsteen is set to perform at halftime of Sunday’s Super Bowl.
One way to make a buck: Massachusetts fertility clinics say they’ve seen a 15% to 30% increase in the number of people looking to sell eggs or sperm, reports the Boston Herald. The slumping economy is credited with bringing in more potential donors. Clinic officials say while donors can make hundreds or thousands of dollars, they must go through a strict screening that disqualifies the vast majority of candidates. “It’s not like in the movies where you show up, make a deposit and get handed a check,” says a sperm bank spokesman.
