The Business Report Calendar is open to events of general interest to the Capital Region businesses community. Items must be submitted no later than noon the Friday before the event occurs. E-mail tboone@businessreport.com with information.

Wednesday -- A day long conference on "Preparing Your Business For A Disaster" will be held starting at 8 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The event is sponsored by Louisiana Business & Technology Center, the Stephenson Disaster Management Institute, and Taylor Porter. Retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honore, who led Task Force Katrina after the 2005 hurricane, will be the keynote speaker. Registration is $75, to sign up, click here.

Thursday -- U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy will hold office hours in his Livingston office from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Baton Rouge Republican will be on hand with staff members to meet with constituents. The meeting will be held in Cassidy's office in the Livingston Parish Health Unit. Cassidy will also hold a town hall meeting on health care at 5 p.m. Thursday at the LSU Board of Supervisors Board Room.

Thursday -- A public open house on the North Boulevard Square project will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Old State Capitol. The design team of Brown + Danos landdesign and Joseph Furr Design Studio will give a presentation, then take comments from the attendees.

June 2 -- The ACG Louisiana will hold its monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. in LSU's Lod Cook Alumni Center. Cory M. Dowell, a member of the Wealth Management Group, will be the guest speaker. Admission is free for ACG members, $50 for guests. For more information, click here.

June 4 -- The Foundation for Historical Louisiana will host a lecture featuring New Orleans attorney and preservationist William E. Borah, at 6:30 p.m. at the Old Governor's Mansion. Borah, president of Smart Growth for Louisiana, has taught historic preservation, preservation law and urban planning at the University of New Orleans. June 5 -- Mayor Pro Tem Mike Walker will be the guest speaker at the Baton Rouge Black Chamber of Commerce's monthly executive luncheon. The lunch will be held at 11:30 p.m. at Drusilla Seafood. The meal is $15 for chamber members, $20 for guests. For more information, click here.

June 16 -- The Disney Institute's traveling professional development program will make a day-long stop at LSU's Lod Cook Alumni Center, starting at 8 a.m. The event, sponsored by LSU's Executive Education and Baton Rouge Business Report, provides insight on Disney's business practices.
