“Lawyering up”

East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Douglas P. Moreau has become associated with the law firm of Baker Donelson as counsel in its Baton Rouge office. He will continue in office as district attorney in addition to his relationship with the firm.

ICT Insurance Agency, a Louisiana-based retail and wholesale insurance agency, announced it has changed its corporate name to Regions Insurance. All core essentials of the organization will remain the same as they continue to service customers at their existing locations.

Strength in numbers

Cox Communications has announced that 10 other cable television multiple system operators and the nation’s largest interconnect, Adlink, have joined the company to help New Orleans rebound from Hurricane Katrina. The cable companies are running award-winning spots developed by the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation and Peter A. Mayer Advertising.

Here, but not forgotten

The Baton Rouge Area Foundation has launched a program offering free mental health counseling to those feeling post-traumatic distress caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. InCourage provides up to 10 free and confidential counseling sessions to people who live or work in East Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes. Appointments can be made through The Phone (800) 437-0303, and BRAF will attempt to provide transportation when needed.

With all due respect

Attorney General Charles C. Foti Jr. has announced the formation of the Elder Financial Abuse Task Force and the launch of an elder abuse awareness campaign. The task force will work to increase awareness about elder financial exploitation, create a unified reporting system within Louisiana’s financial institutions and implement stronger elder financial exploitation legislation.
