The Sherwood South Animal Hospital has opened South Baton Rouge Animal Hospital, a satellite clinic on Bluebonnet Boulevard near Burbank Drive.
Co-owner and head veterinarian Dr. Stephen Lee says he opened the clinic in response to population shift to south Baton Rouge. “We’re new to the neighborhood, but we’re not new to Baton Rouge,” says Lee, who has been with the business for 16 years and owns the hospitals with Dr. Alfred Stevens. “We’ve been offering services for 45 years.”
The 3,000-square-foot clinic opened mid-September and is staffed by five employees. Veterinarians split their week between the Sherwood South Animal Hospital and the new clinic.
The satellite clinic offers general vet services including vaccinations, wellness care, surgery, dentistry, ultrasound and radiology. The business will also offers transport services between the two facilities in case an animal needs emergency care at the Sherwood South Animal Hospital, which provides 24/7 emergency and critical care.
