Tulane grad gives $8.3 million for dual-degree program

A Tulane University graduate is giving $8.3 million toward the creation of a new dual-degree program in business and international studies. This program will bear the name of the contributor, the Jeffrey A. Altman Foundation. Students seeking this new degree will be required to complete coursework in the A.B. Freeman School of Business and Tulane’s School of Liberal Arts. The curriculum involved will include business, foreign language and culture, and a year of study abroad. “In an increasingly global business environment, international study is a must. There are very few business programs in the entire country that offer a dual degree with an international component such as this,” says Jeffrey Altman, founder and managing partner of Owl Creek Asset Management. Students can begin enrolling for the international business studies program in the fall 2012 semester. Graduates will earn a bachelor of science in management and a bachelor of arts with a coordinate major in international studies.
