Large number challenging attempts to stabilize market: More than 67% of Las Vegas homeowners owed more on their house in the first quarter of this year than the property was worth. Two other cities, Stockton and Modesto, Calif., also had more than half of all properties underwater, according to the report from online real estate Web site Zillow.com. Nationwide, about 20% of homeowners owe more than the value of their house, a situation that will hamper efforts by Washington to help the housing market, by offering mortgage refinancing, the Wall Street Journal says.

Twitter tension: Sixty percent of business officials say they have a right to know how employees portray their company in online social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter. But 53% of workers who participated in the Deloitte LLP Ethics & Workplace survey say what they post on networking sites is not the concern of their employer. While 74% of the people polled say these sites make it easier to damage a company’s reputation, one third of workers say they never think about their boss or company before they post material online.
