Introducing the Gamebook: Integrated Game Studios, a company with offices in the Louisiana Technology Park, has introduced its first app for the iPhone and iPad. The Gamebook is a set of 3D mini-games with a sales price of 99 cents for the iPhone and $1.99 for the iPad. Customers who download the Gamebook will also be able to suggest and vote on what new games are added to the app. Integrated Game Studios is a family-owned business that graduated from the technology park’s Tech Park U program two years ago.
Makes final of competition: The Baton Rouge Rambler, a steam train route that runs from Dallas to Baton Rouge, is a finalist for Union Pacific Railroad’s Great Excursion Adventure. Participants can vote at upexcursion.com for a chance to win a tour of their favorite route. Balloting is open through Jan. 17.
Tigers, Tide, then Texas: Bo Davis, a former All-SEC defensive lineman for LSU in the early 1990s, is reportedly set to be named as the defensive tackles coach at Texas. Online reports in Texas and Alabama say Davis will accept the job. Davis wrapped up his fourth season coaching Alabama’s defensive line. During that time, the Crimson Tide had a stout defense on their way to winning a BCS Championship in 2010. Davis would replace Mike Tolleson, who retired last month as the Longhorns’ defensive tackles coach.
