Symil LeDoux has been named executive director of the American Cancer Society in Baton Rouge. LeDoux had been with the organization for three years as a health initiatives representative before getting the top job. She replaces Patty Williams, who in January took the position of development officer for the American Cancer Society at the state level, handling major gifts. The American Cancer Society has a staff of seven in metro Baton Rouge and manages a $1.6 million budget. LeDoux says she wants to grow that budget to $2 million, by educating people about what the organization does.
