Guests at the downtown Holiday Inn Express on North Boulevard were shocked when the hotel closed with no warning and canceled all reservations last week. According to WBRZ-TV, the hotel ceased operations because the property was recently bought by an out-of-state developer who specializes in hotels and apartments. The hotel first opened in summer 2015.
