Families that call Zachary’s traditional neighborhood development Americana home will have more options for child care and family-friendly entertainment.
According to a news release, construction of Kidz Karousel Early Childhood Development Center and Cheauxnaniganz Family Entertainment Center is expected to begin in the fall.
Founded by owners Tessa and Derrick Holloway, Kid Karousel will have a 12,000-square-foot facility in Americana that provides educational and child care services for roughly 189 children ages six weeks to 12 years old. The facility will be built off Mount Pleasant Road and Americana Boulevard. Staffers include state licensed trainers certified in CPR and first aid.
Cheauxnaniganz Family Entertainment Center, also founded by the Holloways, will be built next door to Kid Karousel. The entertainment center will span 15,000 square feet, with an arcade, online gaming rooms, restaurant, party rooms, laser tag and ropes course.
“These exciting new businesses continue our commitment to provide quality amenities and services like no other to our homeowners and to the town of Zachary,” says Americana owner and developer John Engquist in a prepared statement.
Tessa Holloway says she and her husband, Derrick, are excited about expanding their businesses in the Zachary planned community. The couple has operated businesses in Lake Charles, East and West Baton Rouge and Mandeville.
Americana is a traditional neighborhood development that’s anchored by a 26,000-square-foot YMCA that opened in 2013. The $500 million development has more than 500,000 square feet of commercial space, a town square, waterfront park, restaurants like Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar and Bistro Byronz, retail stores, a green space, a dog park and The Pointe community center.
