Tuesday -- Metro Councilwoman Tara Wicker will hold a District 10 community meeting at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Representatives from the Baton Rouge Police Department and other crime prevention partners including Community Policing and Crime Stoppers will be on hand.
Wednesday -- Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport will hold its annual Disadvantaged Business Enterprise workshop starting at 10 a.m. at the Baton Rouge River Center. The event is for all firms interested in pursuing future work at the airport, in fields such as construction, engineering, planning and architecture. To register, go to flybtr.com.
Thursday -- Metro Councilwoman Donna Collins-Lewis will hold a District 6 Community meeting at 6 p.m. at BREC Headquarters. Officials from offices such as the Baton Rouge Police, Department of Public Works and East Baton Rouge Re-Development Authority.
June 16 -- The Disney Institute's traveling professional development program will make a day-long stop at LSU's Lod Cook Alumni Center, starting at 8 a.m. The event, sponsored by LSU's Executive Education and Baton Rouge Business Report, provides insight on Disney's business practices. June 18 -- The first Walker Business Meet & Greet will be held at 6 p.m. in Revival Temple Church on Walker South Road. The event will allow businesses to meet each other, share experiences and meet representatives from various community organizations. To RSVP, contact the town at (225) 665-4356.
Sept. 17 -- Louisiana Looking Up 2009, hosted by the LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association-Louisiana Chapter, will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Lod Cook Alumni Center. This will be the sixth time for the annual events, which celebrates entrepreneurship in Louisiana. Bill Jeansonne, a commercial agent at Sealy & Falgoust Real Estate, will serve as the chair of Louisiana Looking Up 2009. For more information, click here.
