Monday -- Mayor Kip Holden and some of his top officials continue a "listening tour" of East Baton Rouge Parish with a 4 p.m. visit to the Zachary Branch Library and a 6:30 p.m. stop at the Scotlandville Branch Library. These are part of 12 meetings that Holden says will be used to get citizen input on future priorities for the parish.
Tuesday -- Mayor Kip Holden makes two more stops on his listening tour: 4 p.m. at the McKinley Alumni Center on Thomas H. Delpit, and 6:30 p.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Stuart Avenue.
Wednesday -- A seminar on "How to Recession-Proof your job and career" will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library's Bluebonnet Branch. Anne Nowak, program director of the Career Center, will present the seminar, which introduces people to careers and sectors of the economy more resistant to economic downturn. Thursday -- Mayor Kip Holden makes the final stops on his listening tour: 4 p.m. at the Kleinpeter Activity Center on St. George Drive, and 6:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church on Jones Creek.
Thursday -- The Baton Rouge Area Chamber will hold "BRAC Impact 2009: Results" at 6:30 p.m. at the Baton Rouge River Center. The event, hosted by Jamie Wax, will celebrate the region's accomplishments in 2008. For more information or tickets, call BRAC at 381-7125.
Friday -- Baton Rouge Police Chief Jeff LeDuff will be the guest speaker at Forum 35's monthly Forum Friday lunch. Registration for the event starts at 11:45 a.m. at Juban's. Admission is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. For more information, e-mail todd@donniejarreau.com.
