Denise Murrell was named sales manager for WBRZ Channel 2. In her new position, she will handle all national sales and will focus on market development and training. Previously, Murrell served as an account executive for WBRZ. Prior to that, she was the director of sales and marketing for Jim Doyle and Associates in Sarasota, Fla.
Financial and Insurance
Fred V. Beebe was named Baton Rouge market president of First Bank and Trust. Beebe will lead retail and commercial banking as well as the real estate and construction efforts associated with the bank’s expansion into Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. In addition, he is the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act officer.
Government
Steve Graziano was named deputy director for the Louisiana Educational Television Authority, the agency that runs the six-station Louisiana Public Broadcasting Network. Previously, he served as manager of television program services for Nebraska Educational Telecommunications.
John L. Bennett was appointed to the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. Bennett currently serves as principal of St. Aloysius School. Previously, Bennett served as assistant principal of instruction at Port Allen Middle School.
Heath Care
Jeffrey Keller, Ph.D. joined Pennington Biomedical Research Center as associate executive director for basic research in addition to holding the Hibernia National Bank/Edward G. Schlieder Endowed Chair. Previously, Keller was professor and holder of the R.C. Durr Endowed Chair for Alzheimer’s Disease at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Brian E. Kozar has been named chief of staff at Lane Regional Medical Center by the hospital’s medical staff. Dr. Kozar is a graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio, and completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Penn. He has been a member of Lane’s medical staff since 2004.
Dr. Edward Schwartzenburg was elected chief of staff of Woman’s Hospital for 2008. Dr. Schwartzenburg is a practicing obstetrician and gynecologist with Drs. Schwartzenburg, Lafranca and Guidry. He will also serve on the Woman’s Hospital Board of Directors.
Edgardo Tenreiro was named executive vice president and COO of Baton Rouge General Medical Center and General Health System. Tenreiro recently served as CEO for Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He also worked with the NCH Healthcare System in Naples, Fla. serving in a variety of executive and management positions including vice president of operations and vice president of cardiology and oncology service lines.
Industry
Scott Hawkins was named aftermarket sales area manager of the southern territory for Kossen Equipment. Hawkins will oversee the Service and Aftermarket Sales divisions for Kossen’s Baton Rouge and Mobile area locations. He was previously a sales representative for P & S Diesel of New Orleans.
Keith Rowzee was named president of Werco Building Specialties. Rowzee joined Werco 29 years ago, and he has served as senior vice president for the past 13 years.
Nonprofit
Laura Smith was appointed president/CEO of The Louisiana Council for Economic Education, a statewide nonprofit organization working to train teachers to empower their students through the use of inventive economic curricula. Smith came to LCEE from Barbizon International where she served as the statewide director of education.
Michael Page was named director of safety and loss prevention for the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation. In this position, Page will oversee the strategic direction for LWCC’s loss prevention services programs for policyholders.
Retail and Local Business
Rosanne Wilfer was named director of sales for the SunShine Pages. Wilfer brings with her close to 30 years of experience in the Yellow Pages industry.
Jeanne Miller was named director of operations for the SunShine Pages. She has been with the company for 15 years.
Kristine Bulot was named electronic product manager for the SunShine Pages. She brings with her over five years of experience in the online Yellow Pages industry.
Kay Wilbert was named general manager at Professional Limousine Service, servicing Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. Previously, Wilbert served as the membership consultant for the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce.
Science and Technology
Jim Felicetti was named senior vice president of sales for TraceSecurity, an SaaS provider offering compliance software and services. Previously, Felicetti served as vice president of sales at Oracle, where he exceeded $33 million in revenues in the first two years. He also served at vice president of sales for HRsmart, a provider of customizable HR software and Verizon Business Call Center Services and Enterprise Solutions Group.
Jarek Nabrzyski was named executive director of the LSU Center for Computation and Technology. He will work under the director to identify and pursue strategic endeavors that promote and advance LSU’s research, education and economic development activities. Previously, Nabryzski served at the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center in Poland.
