The Wall Street Journal has analyzed four years’ worth of federal flight records to study how publicly traded companies are using their corporate jets. The study found that dozens of jets made 30% of their trips to or from resort destinations. The newspaper notes that a high percentage of trips were to places such as Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.; Big Sky, Mont.; and Augusta, Ga.; some jets, the study suggests, are evidently being used by executives to make personal trips. The data raises concerns about whether companies are disclosing the full price of personal jet travel. See the full story here. To view an interactive database of corporate jet flights, click here.
