Turner Industries has acquired a roughly 5.15-acre site in Geismar for $2.75 million that it will use as an Ascension Parish satellite office.

The transaction, the second of three purchases in Ascension, will enable Turner to locate an office closer to the activity of the industrial corridor, says Mark Hebert of Kurz and Hebert Commercial Real Estate.

The first transaction—2.5 acres, costing $500,000—occurred earlier this year, says Hebert, who represented Turner in the deals. The company is finalizing a deal to buy another 3 acres for $600,000.

Once the last deal is complete, the contractor will own just under 11 acres in Ascension, with room for future growth.

For now, the purchase of the 5.15-acre site—on La. 73, just off La. 30—is the most substantial portion of Turner’s recent real estate acquisitions in the parish, Hebert says. In addition to the land, the company is getting a 30,000-square-foot building that it was pre-leasing before finalizing the deal on Monday.

Turner had already moved its employees into the building, which will serve a variety of purposes ranging from a scaffolding yard to a repair facility and heavy equipment storage.

The seller is listed as LB Properties, a limited liability company based in Mississippi.

Bill Sanders of Beau Box Commercial Real Estate represented the seller.
