The Sykora family has owned an older service station building at the southeast corner of Government Street and Glenmore Avenue across from Calandro’s Supermarket for several years. Josh Gwin and Chris Pike with NAI/Latter & Blum Realtors teamed up to sell the property last week. The seller was Billie Sue Richardson Sykora, and the purchaser was 4222 Government Street. The property was purchased for $195,000 for the 14,400-square-foot site. According to Gwin, the existing improvements had very little value, so the sale price was really based upon the land, and works out to about $13.50 per square foot. Gwin says the new owner will renovate the building for a national take-out restaurant franchise, but he would not reveal the type franchise at this time.
