Corridor consumers can expect a 4% break on any purchases they make Aug. 6-7. Those are the dates of the annual Louisiana Sales Tax Holiday. During that time, most retail purchases will be exempt from state sales tax. The exemption applies to the first $2,500 of the purchase price of most individual items of tangible personal property for non-business use. The exemption does not apply to any sales taxes collected by parishes, towns, school board and other local taxing authorities.
