Hardy Swyers, a founding member of the Baton Rouge Growth Coalition, has been named the new executive director of the organization. Swyers, a developer and former president of C.J. Brown Realtors, replaces Michael McDuff, who recently left to become director of the Louisiana State Contractors Licensing Board. “When Hardy asked us to consider him for the position, it was an easy decision,” says Tom Cook, who chaired the search committee. Cook says there were several applicants for the post, but some had to be excluded because of conflicts with state ethics laws. Swyers is set to take over as director on March 15.
