Hans Sternberg, founder of Starmount Life Insurance Company and sister company, AlwaysCare Benefits Inc., is preparing to pass the torch of his Baton Rouge-based firms to his children.

Erich Sternberg has been named CEO of the combined companies, while Deborah Sternberg will now serve as president. Erich previously served as president, while Deborah was executive vice president. Donna Sternberg continues to serve as executive vice president.

Hans Sternberg, who will continue to share CEO and chairman roles at the companies alongside his son, says the leadership changes represent more than a simple organizational restructuring.

“This is just the latest step in our planned transition to a new generation of leadership,” Hans Sternberg says in a prepared release. “Both Deborah and Erich have been part of the companies for many years now, in various leadership roles, and share a keen understanding of the business, the industry and vision for the companies. They are uniquely prepared and qualified to lead Starmount Life and AlwaysCare into the next phase of growth.”
