The auction of a 700-acre estate near Jackson earlier this month landed a winning bid of $3.5 million. Officials with Bonnette Auctions, which handled the sale along with Lippard Auctioneers, Hubbard Properties and Cabela’s Trophy Properties, say the winning bidder was from South Louisiana. The bidder wasn’t identified since the sale has yet to close. The winner plans to use the property, which includes a 13,000-square-foot home off La. 68, as a vacation home. More than 300 people attended the auction at David Gaines’ home.
