Miles and Melissa Holley, owners of four Baton Rouge-area Skid Marks Tire Pros stores, are going into the storage business.

Miles Holley says the couple has purchased All Parish Storage from Sam Richardson for $1.15 million, and the Prairieville business will be rebranded as Skid Marks Storage Pros. Located at 38068 Post Office Road, just off Airline Highway, the storage center is located on 2.2 acres and includes a total of 121 storage units of varying size.

“It was a good opportunity for investment, but it also allows us a place to grow our car care centers,” Holley says. “As we’ve grown that business it has required us to get some more room for the accounting side of things, so we’re going to build out one of the two warehouses on this site to make some space for that.”

New signage for the storage center has been ordered, Holley says, and it should go up in the coming weeks. While the Holleys have no definite plans at the moment to expand the center, there is room for more units.

“That is definitely going to occur in the future,” Holley says of an expansion. “Seven of the units are enclosed and large enough for large RV and boat storage. Most units around town might be covered, but these are completely enclosed and they’re very, very popular. All seven are taken, and we’re probably going to want to build out more of those at some point.”

The Holleys rebranded three local Treads & Care Tire Co. locations as Skid Marks in early 2012, and that spring also added a fourth location with the purchase and rebranding of a Denham Springs service center.

“We’ve been very, very pleased with it,” Holley says of the rebranding effort, “and that’s why we’re going with Skid Marks Storage Pros for the new name. We want to take advantage of the brand that we’ve been building up for the past few years.” —Steve Sanoski
