Shreveport-made app rises to top of iPad sales list

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, developed by Moonbot Studios of Shreveport, has risen to the top of the iPad app sales charts. The app, which includes a children’s book and a short film, was launched in late May and has received national praise from The New York Times and Fast Company. The project was sponsored by Louisiana Economic Development as a way of demonstrating the full range of Louisiana’s capabilities in animation and digital interactive application development. Morris Lessmore sells for $4.99 for a version and the app has a wealth of interactive elements, such as puzzles, word quizzes and a piano keyboard that teaches children how to play Pop Goes the Weasel.
