An Avon, Connecticut-based realty group that specializes in acquiring and renovating distressed multifamily properties has purchased the Sherwood Park Apartments complex on Florida Boulevard for $1.53 million.

The O’Brien Realty Group purchased the complex, which includes 102 apartments and 78,888 square feet total, from Sherwood Park Apartments Partnership, represented by partner Stephanie Stephens.

The complex is located at 13045 and 13047 Florida Blvd., between the intersections of North Sherwood Forest Drive and North Flannery Road. Company officials could not be reached immediately for comment this afternoon on any renovation plans for the complex.

However, according to the O’Brien Realty Group website, the company focuses “exclusively on the acquisition, renovation, repositioning and management of distressed multifamily properties,” noting it has reinvigorated “forty distressed multifamily projects and revitalized more than five thousand apartment units.”

The company currently owns and manages apartment communities in North Carolina and Louisiana, including two complexes in New Orleans and the Cherry Creek Apartment Homes at 1710 N. Harco Drive in Baton Rouge. The company’s website says Cherry Creek was acquired in 2014 and that a $4 million renovation is currently in progress on the property, which was built in 1982.
