The Shaw Group has turned over a $400 million natural gas-fueled power plant near Las Vegas. Shaw says work on the 500-megawatt plant is “substantially complete” and that owner NV Energy now has the facility so it can open it up for commercial use. Shaw started building the plant in 2009 at the existing Harry Allen Generating Station. The plant allows NV Energy to increase its generating capacity to meet the needs of southern Nevada.
