The Shaw Group has been awarded contracts to work with the state of Wisconsin and General Electric. Shaw got a four-year contract with the Wisconsin Statewide Energy Efficiency and Renewable Administration to serve as program administrator for Focus on Energy. Focus on Energy is aimed at managing energy costs, protecting the environment and controlling demand for electricity and natural gas from businesses and households. The value of the contract was not disclosed. Shaw is working with Louisiana, Illinois and Missouri on similar energy-efficiency programs.

Shaw has also been awarded a deal to operate a sediment processing facility in Fort Edward, N.Y. The facility is being used for the GE Hudson River dredging project. GE is dredging a 40-mile section of the Hudson to remove polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs. GE dumped more than 1.3 million pounds of PCB in the river over a 30-year period, until it was discovered the chemical compound causes cancer in animals. Shaw performed a similar job in the first phase of dredging, which was done in 2009. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
