The start time for Saturday’s Cap City Beer Fest in North Boulevard’s Town Square has been moved up to 11 a.m. after Wednesday’s announcement that Saturday’s LSU-South Carolina game will be played in Baton Rouge at 2:30 p.m.
The beer fest will feature brews such as Parish Brewing’s Neapolitan Stout, Sweetwater’s Happy Ending and other locally and nationally brewed porters, ales and lagers. Advance tickets are still available at capcitybeerfest.org for $40 and $50 the day of the event. The event had originally been scheduled from 1-5 p.m.
Organizers say the beer fest also will feature live music and food from Galatoire’s Bistro, Mestizo’s Mexican Restaurant and Reed’s Cakes & Catering.
The beer fest, which benefits Companion Animal Alliance, is one of a few events to be upended Saturday by the change in venue for the LSU game.
As reported in Wednesday’s Daily Report, the Alzheimer’s Services Walk/Run to Remember, the LSU College of Agriculture’s “Your Friend’s Closet Sale” fundraiser and the “Modernism in Louisiana” symposium all either changed their time or venue for Saturday.
Davis Rhorer, executive director of the Downtown Development District, says he knew of no other changes to any events Saturday.
