LSU has tentatively agreed to play North Carolina in the 2010 Chick-fil-A College Kickoff, according to Tony Barnhart of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The game would be played Sept. 4, 2010 in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome. Both teams have to resolve scheduling issues before the game is official—LSU is set to play Tulane in the Superdome on that date. The Georgia Dome has become a familiar place for the Tigers in recent years thanks to the SEC Championship Game and the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
The first Chick-fil-A bowl game was last season between Alabama and Clemson. Alabama is returning this season to play Virginia Tech. LSU has played North Carolina six times, with the Tigers holding a 5-1 series lead. LSU won the last game between the teams, which was played in 1986. Read the story here.
