LSU football coach Les Miles held a meeting late Monday night with Athletic Director Joe Alleva, other school officials and members of the Board of Supervisors, according to The Shreveport Times. The meeting, held after Miles and his agent met with Michigan officials, is part of an effort by LSU to keep him at the school. Herb Vincent, LSU associate athletic director, told The Times that the situation is similar to what happened in 2007, when LSU quickly hammered out terms of a new contract with Miles after he said he would talk to Michigan. According to WWL, Miles doesn’t want to leave Baton Rouge, but he wants a commitment from LSU that he won’t get fired after an eight-win season. Jeff Palermo of WWL predicts that Miles will get a contract extension from LSU that would contain “huge bonuses” for playing in the SEC and BCS Championship games. Read the story here.
