A new report found that about 1.3 million Louisiana residents, or 36.2% of residents under 65, were uninsured for some point during 2007 and 2008. That compares with the 33.1% of all Americans younger than 65 who lacked health insurance during some point in 2007 and 2008, according to a report from Families USA, a group that lobbies for affordable health care. Families USA says more than half of the households that lacked health insurance had annual incomes below $42,400, while nearly 26% had incomes of above $42,400. Just over 73% of those who didn’t have insurance were working full-time or part-time.
