Baton Rouge-based Renal Associates has purchased roughly two acres of vacant land on Picardy Avenue, between Essen Lane and the Baton Rouge General Medical Center’s Bluebonnet campus.
“We plan to build a new dialysis clinic there, specifically for home dialysis,” says Dr. Daniel Marsh, who is among the 13 kidney specialists, or nephrologists, with Renal Associates. “We’ve outgrown our current location, which is just around the corner on Mancuso [Lane], and we’re essentially relocating that clinic to this new space, which will be larger and will be built to accommodate future growth.”
In total, Renal Associates has operations in about 18 clinics across the Baton Rouge area, Marsh says. The land for the new clinic was purchased for more than $1.15 million by Picardy Development Partners LLC, whose co-managers are Marsh and Dr. Michael Roppolo, also with Renal Associates. The seller was Barber Brothers Contracting Company LLC.
Marsh says the new clinic will measure about 10,000 square feet.
“We hope to break ground within the next four months or so,” Marsh says. “We’ve been working on the plans for some time now, and we’re optimistically hoping to have it finished in about 14 months after construction starts.”
