Psalms 103 bids us to remember and bless God for five qualities of who God is, and five benefits what He has done for us, and continues to do for us. The result is that our soul is renewed with strength, like a soaring eagle. “Forget none of His benefits, who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.” Over the next five Reflections, we will examine these five qualities of God the Father and His works. When a person consistently remembers who God is as their Pardoner, Healer, Redeemer, Crowner, and Satisfier; it calls them into blessing the Lord with all their souls, and everything that is within them. That is where and when the renewing of strength begins to rise in one’s life, like a soaring eagle. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. And forget none of His benefits.”
