Giving Glory in Worship

This is my favorite attribute to be given in worship. The glory of God is incomprehensible, yet tangible. The glory of God is the vast expanse of all that God is in His full character. However, God has made His glory tangible for our experience. How? “And the Word (Jesus) became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. For of His fullness (glory) we have all received, grace upon grace.” (John 1:14, 16) When we experience the fullness of grace and truth in Jesus, and receive grace upon grace, we receive/experience glory. Paul splashes this glory on the canvas of our lives in Ephesians 1:6: “to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He has freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.” God has also given us the glory of oneness with Himself, and the crowning experience of this glory is that the Father has “loved us even as the Father has loved to Son.” Jesus spoke/prayed in John 17:22-23: “The glory which You (Father) have given Me (Jesus) I have given to them (believers), that they may be one just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.” So, we give glory in worship, which is, fullness of grace and truth, grace upon grace, the oneness of God living inside us; and finally, the Father loves us “even as, just as, same measure” that He loves His Son.
