Red River Bank expands into Sulphur

Alexandria’s Red River Bank is expanding into Sulphur with the purchase of a former MidSouth Bank branch. 

The company announced today its purchase of the branch, located at 1500 Beglis Parkway. in Sulphur, as part of its effort to expand operations in the southwest part of the state. 

The new full-service banking center is expected to open late in the first quarter of 2020. This is Red River’s second location in the area, with an existing site at 4112 Lake St. in Lake Charles. 

“This addition is part of our continued commitment to, and investment in providing local, personal, customized financial solutions in our home state of Louisiana. We’re encouraged by the reception we’ve received in the southwest Louisiana market. Our growth over the last two years in this part of Louisiana is very positive,” Red River Bank President and CEO Blake Chatelain says in a prepared statement. “We’re excited to add to our geographic footprint and to be able to continue to expand our team throughout the state.”

Red River Bank has other branch locations in Baton Rouge, Alexandria, Shreveport/Bossier City and Covington. 

The announcement comes on the heels of other recent bank branches swapping ownership.

Hancock Whitney recently sold two of its closed Baton Rouge branches to Mississippi-based BancorpSouth Bank and Houma-based South Louisiana Bank.
