Investing locally: Provident Resources Group, a local nonprofit, has purchased two apartment complexes for $9.9 million. Provident bought the 184-unit Goodwood Place Apartments and the 96-unit Towne Oaks development in a deal that closed last week. Steve Hicks, Provident president and CEO, says the company plans to maintain the apartments as affordable housing, while making improvements to the property.

Room with a view: A 4,600-square-foot penthouse in the Crescent condominium development is on the market for $1.65 million. Brian Dantin of Wampold Companies, which developed the Crescent, says he decided to put the property up for sale. Dantin had been leasing the penthouse, but he decided to sell it after the lease ran out last week. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath condo is custom furnished.
