PAR, a nonpartisan good government watchdog group that established a Tax Advisory Group in November to consider tax policy reforms for Louisiana, today released a working list of recommendations the group has come up with thus far. “Although the work of the Tax Advisory Group is not complete, the public discussion is moving rapidly forward because of the reforms that will be considered in the upcoming legislative session,” PAR says. “These are not final or complete recommendations but they do address several key elements of tax policy.” Check out the complete report here. The report also has the group’s take on the proposed tax reforms laid out thus far by Gov. Bobby Jindal, which include eliminating corporate and individual income taxes and raising sales taxes. Complete details on Jindal’s proposal have yet to be released. Meanwhile, the Americans for Tax Reform today endorsed Jindal’s tax proposal, citing an analysis released Friday by the Tax Foundation.
