The city-parish Planning Commission is set to vote this afternoon on approving Our Lady of the Lake’s plans to build an 80,000-square-foot medical office building at Hennessy Boulevard and O’Donovan Drive. Planning Commission staffers have recommended approving the building, pending OLOL resolving all comments from the Department of Public Works. Kelly Zimmerman, a spokeswoman for Our Lady of the Lake, says the plan is to start construction in the next 30 days and have the building open by September 2010. Renal Associates of Baton Rouge will move out of the Mary Bird Perkins building and take up at least 30,000 square feet in the new building.—Timothy Boone
