This morning, the Our Lady of the Lake Foundation announced Ann Marie Marmande will take the reins as its new president.
Most recently, Marmande served as senior vice president of principal gifts with the LSU Foundation.
Marmande starts Jan. 15, and she will be taking over for Christel Slaughter, who has served as interim president since November 2018 after former head John Paul Funes was fired for stealing nearly $800,000 of hospital foundation funds. Funes was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison in October.
During her 20-year tenure at the LSU Foundation, Marmande led a number of initiatives, culminating in the recent launch of a $1.5 billion campaign. She served as a key strategist in creating a comprehensive blueprint for achieving LSU’s philanthropic potential across its eight campuses statewide and has helped spearhead efforts for coordination and collaboration among LSU’s foundations.
“She is an accomplished and highly respected philanthropy executive and a devoted leader for our community and state,” says Tom Adamek, chairman of the Our Lady of the Lake Foundation Search Committee. “Every interaction with Ann Marie conveys her professionalism, integrity and enthusiasm and I believe she’s as eager to begin as we are to have her.”
