Peyton Murphy, founder of Murphy Law Firm, has purchased the roughly 10,000-square-foot office at 2354 South Acadian Thruway for $1,150,000 and will move his firm into the office early next year.

“We just ran out of space at our office here on Jefferson,” says Murphy, who has put his office at 7035 Jefferson Hwy. up for sale. “We’ll hopefully be in there by February or March, depending on permits, but the latest will be early next spring.”

The new building will not only provide Murphy additional space, it will also heighten his firm’s visibility from Interstate 10. The building, at roughly 10,000 square feet, is located just off South Acadian Thruway, between the TJ Ribs restaurant and Interstate 10.

Murphy plans to “modernize the building” with interior and exterior renovations and move his firm into about 6,300 square feet of space on the ground floor by next spring. The second floor space of the building may be offered for lease, he says, or it may be used to accommodate future growth.

The building was sold by the estate of T.J. Moran, who had founded TJ Ribs, among other restaurants. The restaurateur died in May. The deal was brokered by Mark Hebert and Ellis McKnight, both of Kurz & Hebert Commercial Real Estate.
