The Northeast Plaza Shopping Center at 14485 Greenwell Springs Road, which includes 89,244 square feet of space, has been bought for $4 million by the co-owner of one of its anchor tenants, Oak Point Fresh Market.

In a sale that closed today, a Hartland, Wisconsin-based limited liability company sold the center to an LLC represented by John Sumich, whose family owns and operates Oak Point.

The shopping center is located near the intersection of Greenwell Springs Road and Central Thruway and was built in 1982. The center consists of three separate buildings. Oak Point, an Associated Grocers member, opened its 30,000-square-foot supermarket in the center in August 2006.

The Sumich family also owns and operates an Oak Point supermarket in Watson, as well as Delta Food Mart in Buras and Cypress Point Fresh Market in Patterson.

Calls to Sumich for comment on his plans for the shopping center were not returned as of this afternoon’s deadline.
