Keeping the faith: Black people are more likely to attend church, pray and say religion is an important part of their lives than the U.S. population as a whole, according to a report from the Pew Research Center. The Forum on Religion & Public Life found that 79% of blacks say religion is an important part of their lives, compared with 56% of Americans. Fifty-three percent of black people say they go to church at least once a week, while 76% say they pray at least once a day. That compares with 39% of the U.S. population being regular churchgoers and 58% praying on a daily basis.

Says customers have accepted cost changes: Clay Dover, president and chief marketing officer for Raising Cane’s, told a restaurant trade magazine that a recent price hike has been easily accepted by customers. Dover told Restaurants & Institutions that Cane’s raised the price of menu items the day after Thanksgiving and only one customer complained about the higher costs. “With only four menu items, we have to be very careful in pricing strategy,” he says. Dover says “constant awareness, tracking and forecasting” helps the company keep a balance on prices. Read the article here.
