Will acquire trust and asset management service: IberiaBank has agreed to purchase a trust and asset management service, Florida Trust Co., from the Bank of Florida Corp. IberiaBank will initially pay $700,000 for Florida Trust, which will become part of Iberia Wealth Advisors. Florida Trust currently manages about $460 million in assets from offices in Naples and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Lafayette-based IberiaBank says it could receive up to $700,000 more based upon revenue from former Florida Trust clients during the first year.

See the works: The annual Art Melt event will be held July 16 at the Louisiana State Museum, organizers announced via Twitter earlier today. This will be the second year in a row the juried art exhibition is held at the state museum. Last year, more than 300 artists participated in the event, organized by Forum 35. Art Melt was launched in summer 2004.

Cool treat: Swirll, a Texas-based frozen yogurt chain, plans to open its first Baton Rouge location March 1 in the Southgate development on Nicholson Drive. Swirll has had a Lafayette location for several months. Self-serve frozen yogurt, which offers customers a chance to mix cool treats with a variety of toppings, has been a hot trend in Baton Rouge lately.
