Slight fourth-quarter boost doesn’t lead to turnaround: Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge posted a 7.2% drop in net revenue during 2010, when compared with the year before. The downtown riverboat casino posted $114.1 million in revenue in 2010, compared with nearly $123 million in 2009, according to earnings figures released today by parent company Penn National Gaming. Hollywood had a modest increase in local fourth-quarter revenue, going from $27.1 million at the end of 2009 to $27.3 million at the end of 2010. Revenues at Penn National’s 23 casinos and racetracks were up 3.8% in 2010, to $2.46 billion. The company posted a $59.5 million loss in 2010, or 76 cents per share.
Lafayette home health company operating in Panhandle: Home health provider LHC Group Inc. has entered into a home care joint venture with Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Lafayette-based LHC Group says the primary service area covers three counties in Florida, with a total population of about 632,000, 14% of which is over 65.
