Happy hour: Lafayette may lift its ban on downtown bars in 2018, The Advertiser reports. Wall to wall: Check out prototypes of President Donald Trump’s promised U.S.-Mexico border. Bloomberg has compiled photos and other information of the eight prototypes, which were erected at a construction site near San Diego in October. Half of the prototypes are primarily concrete structures, with two others being hybrid designs of concrete, metal bars, and steel plating. Two more prototypes are constructed primarily from metal. The federal government will test the prototypes for durability and to see how well they withstand penetration later this year. The total cost of the wall and who exactly will pay for it has yet to be answered. Read more.
