Under new ownership: American Realty Capital Hospitality Trust Inc. has completed its previously announced acquisition of four Baton Rouge hotels, as part of a $150 million deal with Summit Hotel Properties that includes 10 hotels total. The four local hotels included in the deal are The DoubleTree, 4964 Constitution Ave.; Fairfield Inn & Suites, 7959 Essen Park Ave.; Springhill Suites, 7979 Essen Park Ave.; and TownePlace Suites, 8735 Summa Ave. The 10 hotels purchased are among 26 American Realty plans to buy from Summit for $347.4 million total, and the company says it has another 18 hotels under contract with other sellers for $392.4 million. The company did not disclose the location of the hotels in the other deals in a press release issued Tuesday.

Leading the Lake: Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge has a pair of new deans. The college announced this morning that Brian Rash has been tapped to lead the School of Arts & Sciences, while Alison Wells will be dean of students. Rash has been with OLOL College since 2006, most recently serving as the associate dean of the School of Arts, Sciences, and Health Professions. Wells comes to Baton Rouge from The University of Houston, where she has served as assistant dean since 2009. Also at Houston, Wells served as an activities advisor and adjunct faculty member for the online master’s degree in higher education program. OLOL College has more details on today’s announcement.

Don’t wait: Tickets are available now for the next 225 Hot Off the Press event, which will celebrate the magazine’s 10th anniversary. Attendees will get a sneak peak at the November issue during the party at The Roux House, 143 3rd St., which will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29. Tickets are free, but attendees must RSVP in advance and be 21 or older. The event will feature food, drinks, party favors and live music. RSVP to attend.
