Eat up! Fęte Rouge, a celebration of Baton Rouge food and wine, will be held Aug. 25 and Aug. 26 at Crowne Plaza. The event, sponsored by the Baton Rouge Epicurean Society, will include wine tasting, a chef’s competition and a silent auction. The event will start with a dinner honoring Chef John Folse, this year’s winner of the Grace “Mama” Marino Lifetime Achievement Award. Direct flights to start Nov. 3: Allegiant has announced that it will begin offering direct flights from Lafayette to Las Vegas on Nov. 3. The (Lafayette) Advertiser reports the one-way introductory fares will begin at $89.99. The new flights will take place on Thursdays and Sundays. Flights will depart Lafayette at 9:05 p.m., arriving in Las Vegas at 10:35 p.m. Flights leaving Las Vegas will depart at 3:10 p.m., arriving back in Lafayette at 8:25 p.m.
