Swinging a big stick: Baseball bats made by a small Baton Rouge company are being swung by five of the top 10 home-run hitters in Major League Baseball this season, the Wall Street Journal reports. Carlos Pena, Albert Pujols, Raul Ibanez, Brandon Inge and Chase Utley use Marucci bats. Owner Jack Marucci produces 20,000 wooden bats a year, which are sold to more than 100 major-league players.

Family entertainment: Cox Communications has added two new high-definition channels to its programming lineup. Disney and ABC Family are now available in HD. Programming from the two family-friendly channels will also now be available in the On Demand library.

Carry your bags: Delta Air Lines has ended its curbside check-in service at many of the small and medium airports it flies out of, including Metro Airport. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says Delta dropped the curbside service because it no longer had enough business to support the cost of paying for contractors. Delta hubs will continue to offer curbside check-in.
