Join together: The Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations says three statewide partnerships it has initiated with Business First Bank, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation, and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor’s Volunteer Louisiana Commission highlight the power of social networks to bridge gaps between public and private sectors. The partnerships will allow the three organizations to connect directly with Louisiana’s online network of over 11,000 nonprofit professionals and volunteers. LANO has more on today’s announcement here.

Uprooted: BREC crews are today removing a 90-year old live oak tree that was uprooted on Sunday by a combination of winds and extremely wet weather in City Park. The tree was located near Magnolia Drive. As soon as weather conditions permit, BREC says it will plant a tree in the same location. Despite the heavy rains of late, BREC says it has found no serious damage to any of its facilities throughout the Capital Region.
