Baton Rouge is the 42nd-most congested city in America, according to the 2010 INRIX National Traffic Scorecard list of the 100 most congested metro areas. Baton Rouge was 32nd on the 2008 report. Since the Jindal administration took office, the state has invested almost $600 million in transportation improvement projects in Baton Rouge and the surrounding community, and has committed to invest an estimated $125 million to $150 million in projects in the upcoming fiscal year, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. The state is currently conducting a feasibility study to review the potential of widening the interstate from the 10/12 split to the Mississippi River Bridge.
