Miles to stay at LSU

Les Miles has decided to remain as LSU’s head football coach, according to school officials. Joe Alleva, LSU athletic director, posted a statement on the LSU Sports website, saying that Miles told him this morning he would return for a seventh season coaching the Tigers. “Les has led this program to many great successes on the field and his players represent LSU well off the field,” Alleva says. “We look forward to many great years of LSU football under his leadership.” Miles is set to hold a press conference after he returns from Dallas, where he is speaking today at the convention of the American Football Coaches Association. Earlier today, Jordy Hultberg, a reporter with the LSU Sports Radio Network, issued a report that Miles would return. Miles met with Michigan Athletic Director Dave Brandon on Monday night in Baton Rouge regarding the Wolverines’ coaching vacancy. Miles then met with LSU officials.
